Manuscript review procedure
Requirements for review.
The review procedure (scientific examination) is passed by all articles submitted to the editorial board, except for reviews of scientific (popular science) works and informational messages. The editors have determined the following procedure for reviewing manuscripts:
1. The author submits to the editorial board an article that meets the policy requirements of the collection "Scientific Bulletin of the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Ivan the Golden-Mouthed UGCC" Good Parson". Theology. Philosophy. History". Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements are not registered and are not allowed for further consideration, about which the editorial board notifies the authors.
2. Each article submitted to the editorial board undergoes three levels of review (scientific examination) according to the profile of the study: open - internal and external, and "blind". The recommendation of an external (open) reviewer, who cannot be the supervisor of the author / degree seeker, serves as a basis for further internal and "blind" review of the manuscript.
3. The editor-in-chief of the collection “Scientific Bulletin of the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Ivan Zolotousty of the UGCC“ The Good Parson”conducts reviewing and appoints reviewers. Theology. Philosophy. History". By decision of the editor-in-chief of the journal (under certain circumstances) the appointment of reviewers may be entrusted to a member of the editorial board. In some cases, the issue of selecting reviewers is decided at a meeting of the editorial board. By decision of the editor-in-chief of the journal (on the recommendation of the editor-in-chief), certain articles by well-known scholars, as well as authors specially invited by the editors to write an article, may be exempted from the standard review procedure.
4. Reviewers of manuscripts can be as members of the editorial board of the scientific collection "Scientific Bulletin of the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Ivan the Golden-Mouthed UGCC" Good Shepherd ". History ”and third-party highly qualified specialists who have deep professional knowledge and experience in specific professional fields (usually doctors of sciences, professors).
5. Internal review is conducted within seven days after registration of the manuscript in the editorial office. In case of receiving a positive response from the internal reviewer, a copy of the manuscript is sent to the profile of the research for "blind" review by leading experts in the field of the article. After obtaining the consent of the scientist who conducts "blind" review, the possibility of reviewing materials (based on the appropriate qualifications of the author's research and the absence of any conflict of interest), he conducts a scientific examination of the article, usually within 21 days. The terms of reviewing can be changed in each case taking into account the creation of conditions for the most objective assessment of the quality of the submitted materials.
6. Interaction between the author and the reviewers takes place by correspondence by e-mail with the editor-in-chief of the journal "Scientific Bulletin of the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Ivan the Golden-Mouthed UGCC" Good Shepherd ". Theology. Philosophy. History ”or using the OJS (Open Journal Systems) publishing platform environment. At the request of the reviewer and with the consent of the working group of the editorial board, the interaction between the author and the reviewer can take place in direct personal contact (such a decision is made only if open interaction will improve the style and logic of research material).
7. If the reviewer indicates the need to make certain adjustments to the article - the article is sent to the author with a proposal to take into account the comments in the preparation of an updated version of the article or to refute them with arguments. The author adds a message to the revised article, which contains answers to all comments and explains all the changes made in the article. The corrected version is re-submitted to the reviewer for decision-making and preparation of a reasoned opinion on the possibility of publication. The date of the recommendation of the article for publication is considered to be the date of receipt by the editorial board of the positive opinion of the reviewer (or the decision of the editorial board) on the expediency and possibility of publishing the article.
8. The author of the manuscript in case of disagreement with the opinion of the reviewer has the right to provide a reasoned answer to the editors of the journal. In such circumstances, the article is considered at a meeting of the editorial board. The editorial board may refer the article for additional or new review to another specialist. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the article in case of inability or unwillingness of the author to take into account the recommendations and comments of reviewers.
9. After receiving positive reviews, the manuscript is sent for literary and technical editing. The interaction between the author and the literary (technical) editor can take place in any form - in person, by e-mail, Skype, telephone. Minor stylistic or formal corrections that do not affect the content of the article are made by the literary (technical) editor without the consent of the author.
10. The final decision on the possibility and expediency of publication is made by the editor-in-chief in accordance with the recommendations of the executive secretary of the journal. After making a decision on the admission of the article to publication, the executive secretary of the journal notifies the author and indicates the expected date of publication.
11. The recommendation to publish the next issue of the journal (with an indication of the content) is made by the Academic Council of the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Ivan Zolotousty and recorded in the relevant protocol.
