The scientific bulletin "Good Parson" was founded in March 2007 by the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological Academy as a periodical professional scientific publication in the fields of "theological sciences", "philosophical sciences", "historical sciences" and "sociological sciences".

History of the journal
The scientific publication of the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Ivan Zolotousty has a long historical tradition, dating back to 1931, when the first issue of the magazine "Good Parson" devoted to "theological and ecclesiastical affairs" was first published in our city with the blessing of Bishop Blessed Hryhoriy Khomyshyn. Its publication was interrupted in 1939. Thus, with the UGCC coming out of the underground, the "Good Parson" magazine was restored as the "official bulletin" of the Ivano-Frankivsk eparchy of the UGCC (1992-1994).
The development of the UGCC higher theological educational institution in Ivano-Frankivsk - from a theological and catechetical spiritual institute to a theological academy and a theological university - during 1990-2018 put on the agenda the establishment of a scientific publication aimed at promoting the development of theological education and science. This issue became the subject of discussion at the meetings of the Academic Council of the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological Academy of the UGCC.
In March 2007, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological Seminary, by decree of the Ruling Bishop of the Ivano-Frankivsk Eparchy of the UGCC Volodymyr Viityshyn, on the initiative of the Vice-Rector for Research of the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological Academy of the UGCC Fr. R. Gorban, officially founded a scientific publication - Scientific Bulletin of IFTA "Good Parson". Series: Theology.
First, in December 2006, the working scientific-editorial board of the IFTA scientific bulletin "Good Parson", in addition to the bishops, Doctor of Theology Volodymyr Viityshyn and Doctor of Canon Law Sofron the Wise, also included the scientific editor Dr. Theology Richard Gorban, technical editor Fr. Igor Pelekhaty, members of the editorial board - Candidate of Philological Sciences and Professor of IFTA Fr. Ivan Kozovyk, Dr. of Oriental Canon Law Fr. Oleg Kaskiv, Dr. of Theology Fr. Sviatoslav Kiyak, Dr. of Theology and Candidate of Arts Dmytro Stepovyk, Dr. of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Ivan Klymyshyn, Dr. of Theology Volodymyr Sheremeta.
Later, in March 2007, through the efforts of the Vice-Rector of IFTA for Research, Fr. R. Gorban created two bodies of the Scientific Bulletin of IFTA "Good Parson". Theology" is an editorial board and editorial board, the composition of which was significantly expanded due to the involvement of well-known scholars, among whom were, in particular, Dr. of Theology Peter Sabat, a licensee of theology Fr. Alexander Levitsky, Dr. of Philosophy and Dr. of Law Fr. Ivan Lutsky, Doctors of Philosophy Stepan Vozniak, Mykhailo Marchuk and Mykola Sydorenko, Candidate of Philosophy Yaroslav Kozmuk, Dr. of Psychology Viktor Moskalets, Doctors of Historical Sciences Vasyl Balukh, Ihor Andrukhiv and Vasyl Marchuk.
In 2007–2011, the first four issues of the IFTA Scientific Bulletin “Good Parson” were published. Series: Theology", in which articles by scholars, mainly from the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological Academy of the UGCC and the V. Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, as well as from the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, the Ternopil Higher Theological Seminary named after Patriarch Josyph Slipyi of the UGCC, the Institute of Religious Sciences named after St. Thomas Aquinas (RCC).
In 2014–2017, the next seven issues of the scientific bulletin were published, at first the frequency was even increased to two issues per year, the rubrication of articles was changed due to the publication of articles based on the results of All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conferences held at Ivano-Frankivsk Theological University of Ivan Chrysostom. During the same period, the quality of the editorial board of the publication was improved, supplemented by scientists from Poland, from the Catholic University of Lublin, and from scientific institutions and higher educational institutions of Ukraine - from Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Chernivtsi. The requirements of the editorial board for the publication of scientific articles have been improved. The topics of scientific publications and the geography of scientific authors have been significantly expanded.
The establishment of the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy Ivana Zolotoustoho in May 2018, obtaining state licenses to train bachelors and masters in theology in 2018 and 2019 prompted to increase the level of scientific publication of the Academy. In order to promote the development of theological, philosophical, historical and other social sciences and humanities, nurture the intellectual life of the Church, promote a comprehensive understanding of the Christian worldview, publish the results of dissertations, the Academy's administration re-registered the scientific publication at the national level.
On February 6, 2019, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine issued a certificate of state registration of the print media - "Scientific Bulletin of the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy Ivana Zolotoustoho of the UGCC "Good Parson". Theology. Philosophy. History".
