Pastoral letters of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky about the participation of priesthood and believers in elections to the austrian parliament and Galician sejm at the beginning of the twentieth century

Abstract

The article is devoted to the pastoral activity of Metropolitan A. Sheptytsky
concerning to election to the Austrian parliament and to the Galician regional
diet. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the metropolitan's pastoral
messages, concerning to the election campaign 1907 and 1911 to the Viennese
Reichstag. The article analyzes the attitude of A. Sheptytsky to the political
struggle during the election campaigns and to the participation of the Greek-
Catholic clergy in it.
