Abstract

The peculiarities of religious life of western Ukrainian villagers in the age of
social and political transformations since 1939 till 1941 are elucidated from the
modern conceptual ideas based on archival sources, documentary publications
and previous researches of scholars. The peculiarities of the state policy in the
sphere of religion during Soviet regimes are considered. The mechanisms of
villagers adaptation for realization of their spiritual needs are analyzed and the
peculiarities of interchurch coexistence of rural population in the age of
totalitarian regim are revealed.
