Abstract

This article analyzes the legacy of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi against the background of Western Ukraine memoir literature of the first half of the XXth century. The author refers also to the Galician memories of A. Sheptytskyi, including memoirs of the priest O. Prystai. It is concluded that Metropolitan had a particular impact on young people, highly valued national education, the main guide, rightly, considered the church. In the context of the literature in Galicia of that time A. Sheptytskyi's sermons awakened best human values, based on religion, antagonized the lack of spirituality etc.
