Abstract

Dynamic development of theological education and science in Ukraine at the beginning of the XXI century contributed to the steps of the state towards the Church in the process of recognizing theology as a separate educational and scientific specialty. The mechanisms of recognition of theological education provided by the state legislation through the "legalization" of diplomas previously issued by theological universities, the possibility of establishing higher theological institutions in the higher education system of Ukraine, licensing and accreditation of 041 "Theology" allowed the Church to take appropriate initiatives.
