The article exposes activity of the Bishop A. Sheptytskiy in the period of becoming of the Western-Ukrainian People’s Republic (WUPR). Attention is accented ondevelopmen of spirituality and value of Bishop A. Sheptytskiy in becoming and further development of Grecocatholic church and defence of interest of Greco-catholic priests, especially thouse that made decision tosupport the accrued state. Social and political activity of metropolitan A. Sheptytski in 1918-1923 assisted the further fight of the Ukrainian people for thepolitical, national and cultural and religious rights. A metropolitan A.
