Abstract

The development of domestic historiography since the early 1990s is marked by changes in the theoretical and methodological foundations of knowledge of the historical process, which is characterized as a crisis in the development of historical science. The way out of such a "historiographical crisis" may be the application of new methodological paradigms, which does not preclude the preservation of the best principles of positivism and traditional schemes of linear, progressive and regular development of the historical process. Therefore, for many domestic historians, an alternative is becoming attractive - to emphasize the study of "the personal factor in history, which focuses on man, his worldview, mental characteristics".
