Abstract

Although the Church has not had a canonical form of marriage for centuries, it encouraged the faithful to marry in public and with the blessing of the Church quite early on. True, it is difficult today to set a detailed date for this blessing to be shared, but it must have been a long time ago.

In the later period in the Eastern Catholic Church there is a canonical form of marriage, which obliges under the sanction of its invalidity. It was gradually introduced to various Eastern Churches.
