Abstract

The article considers the issue of the official attitude of the Russian Orthodox Church to the ecumenical unity of Christian Churches on the basis of detailed examination of the document the Jubilee Council of Bishops' «The Basic Principles of the Attitude of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Non-Orthodox» (Moscow, 2000). The study opens many new ecumenical views of the Russian Church and allows a deeper understanding of current problems of restoring the unity of the Churches.
