Christological aspect of the dogmas of the Virgin

"The Mother of the Redeemer occupies a well-defined place in the plan of salvation." (RM 1). His Holiness John Paul II says that in this encyclical he seeks to reflect on the significance of Mary in the mystery of Christ and her active, active and visible presence in the life of the Church. The Pope here follows the line defined by the Second Vatican Council in Chapter VIII of LG (52-69) "Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God in the sacrament of Christ and the Church."
The same will be the direction of our thoughts. This is not about Mariology, which would be a "reduced" Christology. Mary is not a denial or a threat to the exclusivity of the Atonement through Christ. She only points to this. For She is the first person in whom the Redemption received through Christ is finally revealed as it will be accomplished in the Church at the end of the ages.
