Abstract

The faith of the people is the basis of its culture, and this culture is impossible for us to understand without studying the folk faith. And at the heart of this folk faith is mostly his pre-Christian faith. The peculiarities of Slavic pagan ideas can best be studied in traditions and rites, the special way of life of the village, even modern.

According to MS Hrushevsky, the remnants of the ancient religion have been preserved in Ukrainian peasant life. The whole life of the village, the system of rites and services, magical acts, meals is the "annual cycle of worship."
