Abstract

The Ivano-Frankivsk Metropolitanate of the UGCC has always cared about the well-being of the Prykarpattia region and its culture, which was very strongly connected with sacred art. The development of Western Ukrainian church painting largely depended not only on canonical church traditions, but also on certain political conditions.
