Abstract

"God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him" (1 Jn 4:16). It was in this evangelical reality that the Encyclical of the Holy Father Benedict XVI "God is Love" was rooted.

This document is a continuation of the previous Encyclical of John Paul II "The Church on the Eucharist", as its content and spirit encourage the reader to take an active part in the Eucharistic life of the Church, in which the preached words become reality. Moreover, the sacramental life of every Christian is not only an opportunity but a necessary requirement for achieving a full life and salvation. Only such a life is the only Divine providence that can oppose death with its poisonous sting of sin.
