Abstract

The pontificate of John Paul II, among other achievements, characterizes a groundbreaking contribution to the unification of Christian communities. The head of the Catholic Church overcomes the boundaries of one denomination with his prism, becoming a point of reference for all others, and even - in the framework of interreligious dialogue - becomes the same for other religions.

The call for the authenticity of the faith received, the uncompromising position while being open to dialogue and understanding of those who believe differently, are the main points of the ecumenism of John Paul II. This orientation is gaining special experience in the context of Ukraine. Especially if these recommendations are addressed to believers in Christ in the vast Ukrainian land.
