Abstract

The underground period of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in its canonical territory became a time when its entire organizational structure - bishops, governing bodies, monasteries, theological schools - was moved abroad. At that time, our Church had a diocese of Philadelphia in the United States in the diaspora, headed by Metropolitan Konstantin Bogachevsky. Dioceses of the UGCC operated in Great Britain, France, Germany, and Canada. Dioceses were later established in Brazil and Argentina.

Under the conditions of the free life of the Church in the diaspora, favorable circumstances also develop for the development of its particular law.
