In today's presbytery, there is no mention of the seven-day ministry of a newly ordained priest. However, if we look at the manuscripts of the 17th-century Hierarch's Servant in the library of Kyiv's St. Sophia Cathedral, we find the following prescription: the newly ordained partook of communion before other priests, recited a prayer, and served "every day for up to seven days."
