Abstract

The article provides a brief history and ritual features Maronite Church. As a result, it was found that the Maronites – the descendants of the ancient Phoenicians, who have come to the Middle East of the Northern Black Sea between the IV–III millennium BC., Have built a high civilization, known worldwide as Phoenicia and Carthage and different sailing, painting fabrics in purple, special visual and musical art, highly respected in relation to women. Maronites – monks launching separate monastic order, managed to preserve the Christian tradition in terms of foreign intervention and Muslim religious influence.

Moreover, the monks Maronites have made the declaration patriarchate in Lebanon and Syria for the Maronites Church, took part in the crusades, restored union with Rome, which resulted able to lead an active missionary, educational and economic activity for the population of the country and neighboring countries, achieved independence for Lebanon and the presidential office, the Constitution, in their country in the minority (equal to 16 % of the population of Lebanon), political and religious equality for all faiths in Muslim environment conditions.

A special pride and prestige in the world Maronites gained through fidelity to Christian tradition, his holy healer Charbel (Youssef Makluf; Oct., 8. 1828 – Dec. 24.1898 ), which made many miracles and healings not merely among Christians of different denominations, but there Muslims thus embodying the idea of ecumenical Christianity in practice.
