Abstract

The process of founding the Stanislaviv Eparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church stretched for almost eight decades: from the appearance of one of the first documents in this case - the memorandum of Bishop Anton Angelovych of Przemyśl in 1806, where the main argument in favor of creating a new ecclesiastical unit was Lviv. to the decrees of Emperor Franz Joseph I of January 29, 1884 and December 26, 1885 and the Bull of Pope Leo XIII, issued on March 26, 1885, in which it was announced that “in Stanislavov at the Church of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ a new Ukrainian Catholic Episcopate".
