Concerning to question of the origin of gentry families of priests (by the example of Stanislav’s diocese of Greco-Catholic Church)

Abstract

The article defines the problem of noble origin and preservation of historical memory of social origin of priests’ families of Stanislav’s diocese of Greco-Catholic Church. It was established, that a third of surnames had noble origin. To the greatest dynasties of Greco-Catholic clergy of Stanislav’s diocese belong: Levitsky, Kisilewsky, Bilynsky, Dragomiretsky, Balytsky, Krushelnytsky, Lenkavsky, Lukashevichy, Stupnytsky.
